Front Hitch yes? Type, part #

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

thinking of getting a front hitch for a bike ( pedal and  or small dirtbike) anyhow, we do a bit of off roading, forest service roads always. Should I be worried about clearance? also, finding the right make and part # is  bit hard online, I have a 2016 2500 gaser, any thought much appreciated. Mike

Last time I looked there were 3 options: Curt, Draw-tite and Eco Hitch.

The Curt hangs down below the bumper valance, so no cutting but big hit to approach angle.

The Draw-tite and Eco Hitch are both higher and require cutting the valance. Between those two its a choice between how much has to be cut and capacity.

Check out e-trailer.com for more details.

Draw-tite

FYI: I installed the Draw-tite on my truck. I don't think it will cause any approach angle issues. At least the hitch won't, of course, anything in the hitch might.

Hardest part of the install was cutting the bumper valance neatly. A second person on hand helps to wrestle it into place.
