I tried to find a good place to post this but since it is mainly a general question for a variety of vehicles I wanted to ask it in the off topic section.

With the passing of the Christmas blizzard in Western New York and how I had to fight with both my silverado and my wifes equinox I wanted to learn if there is a way to force keyless start vehicles to continue cranking when the oil is so cold and thick that it will not start with the remote start or the simple auto-crank feature of the ignition where you can just flip the key to the start position for a second and it will continue to crank until it starts up. With the storm the only way I could get both vehicles to fire up was to hold the keys in the start position the entire time until the engines fired up and ran on their own.

I want to know if there is a similar situation where with a push to start ignition if you can hold the brake down and continue to hold the button down to force the engine to continue to crank or if you are SOL and can't get it started until the engine warms up enough to crank as normal.
