Mike Creel Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I have a 2021 Sierra 1500 SLT with just over 60,000 miles on it. Recently the truck started displaying the backup camera on the infotainment center whenever the brakes were applied. I did what some of the other forums suggested and removed the taillights and put dielectric grease on the connectors. While I was doing this I found that the passenger taillight had water in the housing and there was a small amount of corrosion on one of the pins in the connector. I dried everything out thoroughly and applied the dielectric grease but I am still getting the camera on the display when braking. Any ideas?

Sounds like something has shorted out, if you ever find out what its causing it, I would love to know. Maybe I can make a button to turn the camera on demand. If it is 2021, is it still under base warranty? Would you be able to request the dealer to document what is causing the camera to come up?
