So I’ve looked and looked and since it’s so costly for bulbs and deleting my drls on my 23 custom…I’ve been looking at headlights. I noticed morimoto comes highly recommended and I see there is two kinds. One is $1200 and the other $1800. Both are out of my price range lol but…I’m leaning towards the basic model (halogen signals) anyone have these? Or is the upgraded version best? I’m just looking for good lights and drls

are you wanting to change DRL's to be LED strip like the higher optioned trucks?  If not, then it's much cheaper to just switch to LASfit LED bulbs and get the harness from Gen5diy to relocate DRL from headlight to parking light in your current headlight housings.  You can change your lows/highs/turn/marker bulbs plus the harness from Gen5 and still be half the cost of changing out housings.  But if it's the led signature strip DRL's your after, like I was, then your only option is to switch to aftermarket housings, or the stock led housings and harnesses.  I hope that helps some.

Well…I love the look of the updated lights no doubt. I did look at upgrading the bulbs but read the drls will burn those out fast. I was unaware of this harness you speak of, I think the parking lights as drl would be kinda cool. Link for this harness? I checked that site and I’m not seeing this? I’m probably just missing it…as for the new lights you have…you have the upgraded stock or morimoto? And did you get the high end morimoto or regular two led lights? Love to see a pic

here is the drl relocation harness.  It has went up in price some, like everything else these days, but still cheaper than whole new headlight housings.

I got a set of oem led housings and swapped into mine.  I was able to get them at cost through a buddy is only reason I ended up going this route.  I had Lasfit led bulbs in my stock halogen housings before switching and actually liked the light output of them better (was brighter).  If I hadn't have gotten the stock led housings, I was going to go the route mentioned before of just changing the DRL to the parking lights.  I've also added oem fog lights and they are able to come on with high beams for all 6 on high lighting up the road nicely.

I definitely want to add oem fog lights. I have the auxiliary switches already so should be easy I hope. Thanks for the link!

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
