Looks like me and my dads deal is gonna happen

Me and my dad made a deal 2 or 3 yrs ago.  I would buy the truck and he would buy the boat.  I came through on my end.  No boat though

My mom has been talking about a pontoon boat (Im not really to keen on it) .  Well my dads friend found a pontoon boat (12 or 16 ft)

15HP motor ,perfect deck, trailer.

I'm not a real Boat expert. But did you say 15 HP? Isn't that a little underpowered for a Pontoon boat? (If a pontoon boat is what I think a Pontoon boat is).

once again let me say, I don't know much about boats. or Marine engines.

you dont need much of an engine to move a pontoon but you just cant go very fast 10-15mph tops. :biggrin:

itll move.  Itll be alot faster than 10-15mph.  They arent heavy.  Big but not heavy.  We dont have a huge lake so it would be perfect.

also i didnt mention we have 2 7.5 horse motors.

hmmmm 15 + 15 = 30 horses if we hook all 3 up

That's what I thought it was. And they have those two cylinders that hold the boat up, right?

I've seen alot of those type of boats really moeve. I'm just surprised that's all it takes to move em'.

There is an overpowered Pontoon at a local lake here.  It pulls skiers and leaves a pretty good size wake.  

I couldn't ever have one though, they are just too **** slow.  I gotta have something fast and maneuverable.

Let me get this straight, you buy the full size pickup truck and Dad buys the ?,200 boat.  Hmmm.....Dads is purty smart sometimes......

As for the pontoon boat, you just adjust your expectations a bit and you will have a great time on it...PARTY!!!! Yeah, your not going to set any speed records but you will have alot of fun...good fishing...bottom it out on a little beach (not going to hurt the aluminum pontoons!) with some friends...and if you let a friend take the helm whos not used to boats, theres not a whole lot of damage you can do to it.....HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!!!

Small lake. A pontoon is the answer. You really can use it in many ways you can't use a boat for. they're just a lot of fun.
