2017 aux input volume

The aux input is very very low. Can barely hear it at full volume. Yes the source audio is turned all the way up. I replaced the radio module but no luck. Anyone know if the HMI controls the aux audio. I'm trying to install an android Tesla style screen but it requires a working aux port. It ties in to the aux wiring behind the radio so I don't believe it is a aux port itself

The Tesla style radio you are installing will have several audio input levels built in.
Do not turn them all the way up or audio will be horrible.

I still have a slight issue with phone calls wherein I have to increase the volume a bit and then turn it back down when I return to music. I probably have yet to figure out which input I need to modulate, even after all this time of having it installed. No biggie for me so I haven't really dug into it.
That said, if you want to do the install, go ahead and see if, perhaps, it wasn't an HMI issue but a head unit issue and go from there.
