Replaced a set of factory sized D rated 275/60/20 General ATx with 80k miles with the new Duratrac RT in a 2500 series size of 275/65/20 in an E rating. These have 3-ply sidewalls, 3PMS rated, Kevlar, tread depth of 18/32, and measure 34.33 tall. If Generals would have had an updated tire I probably would have went with those since the other ones lasted so long and were excellent. So far the RTs paired with the Rancho RS7MT shocks/struts are just as quiet and ride really smooth (smoother than the low worn tread of the C rated ATx). Some have mentioned that they can feel a little squiggly at speeds above 75 mph (possibly from the deep treads) and they are correct. Maybe after they wear down a bit that will go away. Tires do not rub unless full lock and at an angle, and even then it’s barely. Tread is very close to front mud flap as you can see in the pictures and I probably will not modify anything because as the tread wears down, it should be just fine. I’m running 44 psi in the front and 42 psi in the rear.  I do have an 1/8” front bottom strut spacer so another 1/2” lift in front and add-a-leaf in rear on top of AT4 2”. To make the spare match I also replaced the factory spare with an odd sized Milestar Patagonia XT in LT275/80R17 (same width and height as new RTs and fit in spare tire location no problem.  The Patagonia XT actually looks really good and quality and the tread is a little more firm than the good years and may possibly get these as the primary tire next time.  Ordered all new new GM sensors even for spare (pt# 84961888) but factory build sheet still did not have the RPO code so the dealership had to look it up for me (RPO XL8 so 433 megahertz).  Ordered the $6.99 OEC-T5 tire sensor tool off of Amazon and programed them and labeled each sensor package/bag before bringing them to the shop. Anyway, just sharing some information because there’s not a lot of information out there on these. The last two pictures are from underneath the truck. Driving soon from basically New Orleans to the end of the Dempster Highway to the Arctic Ocean sign in Tucktoyaktuk so hopefully these tires are strong enough to hold up for the almost 10k mile round trip… which of course includes some detours and points of interest along the way there and back. I’ll give an update after that.
