TCM replacement

Hi,

   I have a NBS 2007 Silverado 4x4 vmax.  It has had a blackbear tune for years.  I recently lost communication with TCM.  I replaced the TCM with a 2009 from a wrecker.  I know have communication and gear indication etc... back.  I tried loading my blackbear TCM tune using AutoCal but get an operating system error ($540) on my programmer.  I believe this is because I have a 2009 tcm and not a 2007?   Does the tcm need to be reprogrammed to work correctly in my truck?  Can the 2009 Tcm be reprogrammed to 2007 configuration and then loaded with Blackbear tune?

You'll have to look up the TCM part numbers to see if they are compatible or call a dealership to ask them with the part numbers.

 

With HP Tuners you can sometimes get away with doing a write entire on the TCM to program it but blackbears stuff might not work the same. If the TCM can be used you'd need someone with a dealer level scan tool to program the TCM to your VIN first.
