So the dealership director talked me into dumping my 2020 gmc Sierra 1500 elevation 5.3 due to vibration issues that no one can figure out and I bought a 2024 gmc 1500 AT4 3.0.

Truck is nice, the Bose radio totally sucks, installed that kicker sub and it’s kind of ok now I guess.

But wtf is going on with the cameras!?  I can’t see a damn thing at night.  The truck has about half dozen cameras and the only one that you can kind of see anything at night is the front camera.  I’m really bummed out by this.  My 2020 had an amazing camera.  Did something change?  Is there a fix for this?  It’s always something with GM I’m so sick of it.

Common complaint on the 23 and 24s. I find mine is OK, but have read a lot of posts from people who swapped out an earlier model for the later one and your complaints are par for the course. There are several things that have been decontented from the earlier models:

  • Bose audio (not the premium in the Denali and AT4 models) is garbage compared to earlier versions
  • Keyless entry  door handles are only on the front doors now
  • Cameras are garbage compared to earlier versions

I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I'm aware of.

Check if there are any settings in the infotainment system that allow you to adjust the brightness and contrast of the camera feed.

Thanks.  No adjustments.  Had the dealer install the little VLEDS led license plate light bar and holy smokes is that thing bright.  100% fixed my rear view camera issue.

For me, it is crazy I don’t remember considering I paid at least five maybe even $8000 more essentially for those massage seats -that’s how bad they are.    Rather than enjoyment from the massage seats. I get frustrated…

Worst stereo I’ve ever had in a truck.

No bass & no one can hear me when I’m on the phone so I end up having to hold my phone.   My 86 Toyota 4Runner 30 years ago shifted in and out of four-wheel-drive Much easier… The turning radius is diminished when you go in four-wheel-drive as well, like mmmmlmmto reverse and back into something you better be with enough interest to **** man my battery went dead to my key. After like three months for the new battery I haven’t had remote entry sense… I’ve checked infotainment extensively. In fact I did it again today the power windows from the remote don’t work. The only thing that seems to work is what I don’t want to work that damn beeping even though I turn off remote left in car ‘beep’ still does it

Seriously, the multi gate was a big selling point as well and it’ll click and act like it’s unlocking six times before it actually drops down the top half sometimes the bottom half

  • Remote windows from the key fob. Yep those have never worked. Turned them on turned them off turn the volume off no work.

I’ve always leased my vehicles, so I get a new one every couple years of course is the one time I didn’t lose. Incredibly disappointing.

    • Even tougher is the 5.0 / 302. That's what this one has.    https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   https://postimg.cc/4n3F3yzY   Just realized I had the airbox removed in the engine pic, lol.
    • Yep! This should be a pin somewhere as @pgamboa really dives into all of this. Thanks for reposting the link!
    • I did the new thermostat after doing a 'flip' for a year. Runs as cool one way as the other in the summer but in the winter there is a bit of a floor. Yellow with the new 70 C thermostat. My data over the life of the unit to date. Still need more cooler. Anyway that floor helped both winter fuel economy and shift quality in the winter. I found it a good balance.
    • Evan Williams Bottled in Bond   So pouring the last of a bottle of Evan Williams Black label last night I set off the the state store for a refill only to be denied the by an empty shelf. Rats.    What the did have was a bottle of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond. 100 proof. Hum, a few bucks more but a known distiller. Lets have a swing at it. ( I have before )    Cracked it open and pour a serving over ice. Hum.... more heat, yes. More alcohol naturally. But the barreling not the proof brings the taste and this one came up short.    Oh is was familiar but the heat ran the barrel over like a Peterbilt runs over a squirrel. Could use a heavier toasting of the oak me thinks or perhaps a longer barreling. Who knows. But what I can say is ice or a water back isn't the answer. What kills one kills them both. Sad. It is a pleasant drink....if you have little to compare it to.
    • I've had exactly one set of Bridgestone. Lasted five year and 125,000 miles and had I known better 15oK would have been a cake walk. I would have bought a like set had they not tripled in price since the first set. I removed them at said mileage with 5/32" remaining in dead even wear all four. They were fuel efficient, quite, comfortable and predictable.    Early on I got a very good alignment checked at least once a year, sometimes twice; kept the tires properly inflated, balanced and rotated. And I've found that many a tire issue can be avoided with great maintenance practices. Lot's of tire dealers will do rotation and balance (simple) for free for as long as you own the tire they sold you so no excuse not to.    Bead prep, alloy integrity and stem health have a huge impact on inflation stability. There are more mountings done poorly that perfectly. Finding a good tire guy is gold and as important as finding a tire you like.    That 3X price increase now two sets of "other tires' later is starting look like a bargain.      Bad maintenance kills more tires than bad tires.
