Headlight upgrade/ conversion

Hey all. I find my self in the market for new headlights. A reckless driver damn near ran me off the road, my front end met some road cones  

 

So I have a 22 LTD Custom. I had previously posted some upgrade options for the halogen setup. Now, since my grille/bumper is damaged, I'm thinking LT/High Country style led conversion. Been looking around and see a lot of info but, of course, I still have questions. 

 

Does anyone have experience with the gen5diy harness on non GM (aftermarket) led headlight assemblies? Will they only work on GM units? Any good info would be greatly appreciated.
