I just took delivery of 2024 Canyon Denali.  Learning all about it!   I have a Samsung A53 phone.

I am wondering about Android Auto.

How do you use it?  Please be as specific as possible.  Consider my thoughts as you reply.

- The truck has Google maps in it already.  So I don;t need navigation from my phone.  Or do I?

- I have Sirius/XM so I don;t need music or podcasts from my phone.

- All the other apps are on my phone and I don't see any value in duplicating them in the truck

- My previous truck Ford F250 read my text messages without AA, so I assume the Canyon will as well.

What am I missing?  What is the value of Android Auto TO ME?

Thanks!

The integrated Google maps.  They will only work if you are subscribed to Onstar Connected Services.  If you don't wish to do so, then you will use Android Auto and then you can use Google Maps from your phone.

I have a 2024 Sierra Denali and an A53 phone. Only had the truck a little over a month so I not to familiar with the working of Android Auto. I know we had a hard time getting to work at the dealer but that was because the phone was set to not update apps.  Once the phone app was updated, it works but what I all does it beyond me.

One thing it does is alerts you of any text message that come in on the screen and gives you the option to hear them using AI to sound them out.

  My truck came with standard;

3 YEARS ONSTAR PREMIUM PLAN:
- REMOTE ACCESS PLAN
- SAFETY AND SECURITY PLAN
- UNLIMITED WIFI DATA PLAN

Thank you!  I guess the key for me is that I have the Premium OnStar for 3 years included with buying the truck.  So I have disabled Android Auto and will see how it goes.
