06 Z71, leveled on 33's and im going through CV's about 2 times a year. Rarely ever put the truck in 4wd so thinking of just deleting. Extended travel

CVs around $400 but cant I just replace hubs with capped end 2wd hubs and remove axles? I can do this for half but want it to be safe. Rather not

try and take axle apart and use the ends but can anyone confirm 100% this will work? Thanks!

I don't think 2wd hubs will bolt to the knuckle, It's not a big deal to pop the outer joint off the shaft, just a little nessy

From what I can tell its the same but just put hubs on the truck a year or so ago. Might pull one axle and just see if I

can tear it apart and keep the splined end, that way it wont cost anything . Thanks

pull the  boot back and there is a clip where the axle slides into the joint, spread the clip open and the axle slides out of the joint. You might be able to find a tupperwear lid that fits the joint to keep the grease in and the dirt out

Ran out to my shop on my lunch break and pulled the worst of the 2 axles.. cut the boot off the end but didnt see any sort of clip but was also short on time. Beat the s**t out of it with a small sledge and it finally came off. Dont like doing it this way but if I can get by without spending $400 on HD axles im ok with it
