I finally got my roll of film developed today and thought I'd share a few pics of what fall is all about.

This is our setup for harvesting corn, as well as what it looks like from the operators seat.  This was our last field of corn that we had to harvest.  Finished it Oct. 27.

Here is the same deal, only in soybeans.  These were taken Oct. 20 I believe.

Those are some impressive looking machines..

How many acres do you have in corn?? The carrots in our 18 acres took about 3 days to get out of the ground..

This year we were evenly split between corn and beans, 350 acres of each.  We started harvest about September 18th, and finished the last field October 28.  Was a very good year overall, for the most part good harvesting conditions, no major breakdowns, and yields were great.

Paco, the combine is a large machine, but this one is currently too small to meet our needs.  We will be trading for a larger one before next year.

This is why cabs are a must these days, a guy's lungs really need something like this.  Can't imagine the old days when farmers sat in the middle of all this dust and dirt!

do u have a/c and cd player in there?  some of the construction equipment round here has a/c, cd, cloth

Ours has an AM/FM radio, climate control, and an OK seat.  You can stay comfortable for a few hours, then you have to get out and walk around.  The new ones like we will be getting have radios with tape players at the minimum, most have CD, and air ride seats in addition to climate control.  They are very comfortable to drive.

Actually, some custom harvesters that operate mainly in the plains states actually do put TVs in their combines.
