While trying to winch up a 2013 Malibu onto my trailer, the power to the winch kept cutting out and then come back on. The truck was running the whole time. It was like it was reaching a lowpoint and had to build backup. My '17 wired the same way and I do not remember having this issue.

 

Here is how the truck is wired:

From the battery I have a heavy duty on/off switch like we use at the drag strip. Negative to the battery.

 

From the o/o switch the power and ground wires run to the back of it the truck where have a connector for the winch on the trailer. All of the wire is 0/2g.
