bummer!!!

I was looking at the preditor and superchips and the guys that give advice around here were really up on both of them. Then i happened on these forums and learned about westers and asked my buddies about that. They hadn't heard of westers so i thought i would be the guinea pig around here and try it. By the sounds of it i'm glad i didn't go preditor i've heard several complain about the service end of the deal which in my book is as important as the sales and unit itself

gonna get a westers by the end of the year sort of getting all my mods one at a time the predator was on the top of the list now after i get everything my westers will be last said to say

ya i hear you.

I was getting several options at a time for my ride and had gotten to the point of putting on the magna flow and k&n filter. My next was some cosmetics like spray in liner and running boards. The i made the mistake of reading about westers  and i thought hey i'll get that this summer after i get this other stuff. Then tom from tbyrne offers this group buy  well there goes my boards and liner for now but i couldn't afford not to on a 04 sierra the price was right o well :cheers:

I'm just anxiously waiting for it to show now and see if it was worth it.

I installed mine today and was not disappointed. I recommend that you make any other mods to the drivetrain before you get the Westers. Lyndon will program it based on the modifications you have made. He will reprogram it for you but you it's easier to do it once. Enjoy, I am!:thumbs:

I almost bought the Predator Programmer... It was a toss up between it and Westers. I've had my Westers PCM swap in since August or so of 2003 and so far I'm pretty happy.

I did alot of reading about the Predator and it seemed like it was #1 among the handhelds, and I had heard stories about this guy Lyndon Wester in Canada and how his programming was sooo much better. So I coughed up the extra $$$ and after talking to Lyndon I made the purchase. I think it was money well spent.

Of all the other refferals I have sent to Lyndon Wester, the best release of HP and Tq. is from my buddies OBS 2000 K2500 xcab 7.4L. He just can't believe the wheel spinning power that his truck has now!!!

I have another friend that is going to get one for his V10 Excursion... I wonder what he can do for that truck...

I used Johan as well and had great customer service. Every time I email for a new tune I get it within the week!! Sorry to hear you’re having so much trouble... As for the Westers. I have only heard good things about it. I didn't do it because I wanted the handheld. Predator is the best handheld........

Sorry your having trouble maybe try Johan instead,

Matt

Actually, I ordered mine before the group purchase. I paid more but got ahead of the rush. I installed it this weekend and it feels very strong. I'm getting it dynoed today and will compare to stock. I'll post the results.

I contacted Diablo Sport back in September to get a Return number so I could send my programmer back to get the newest firmware version. I still haven't been able to send it back, I contact them often and still nothing  . Not only is their company a load of BS so is Johan. Johan hasen't doen a d**n thing to help me out. All I needed was a RAN and they can't do that right, makes me wounder just how good the programs really are.( of course I do have to send it back because of problems with the programs)

here is the flip side... Diablo Sport bends over backwards for the mustang and lightning crowd!!!! I attempted to then get intouch with a Diablo rep refered to me from a mustang owner and there was no help there either. They just do not give support to GM users.

for me its kind of like they got my money so now they dont give a f#*k i continue to e mail and call but it does no good the last tune they sent me would d**n near break your neck when it shifted to 3rd gear and would just sort of slide into 2nd gear this is like my 5th tune they have sent me and they cannot write a performance tune for this truck, the 419.00 could have been spent on something else their price should be 99.00 :D:eek::eek::D:D

Man your experiences are way different then mine has been. Wish things would have worked out better. Sorry you’re having so many problems...

    • New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?
    • So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.
    • Hey everyone, I recently had an issue with my 07 2500HD GMT900. My DRL’s stay on at all times. Right front turn and right mirror turn signal indicator stay on solid at all times. By “at all times” I mean the only way to make them go off is disconnecting the battery. I tore the headlight assemblies out, tried disconnecting the harnesses to eliminate bad wiring at the harness, I unplugged the headlight switch, no change and the mirror turn signal still stayed on. My first thoughts were : Bad bulb and/or socket somewhere, under hood fuse panel bad, bcm bad, tail light or trailer wiring problem, or some random short to power in the harness.  Possibly a bad ground but unlikely. I had a big clue in the fuse panel, it had a burnt smell. I started pulling every fuse that had to do with DRL or right turn/park lamp. Nothing made the right directional turn off but pulling the DRL2 fuse made the DRL’s go out.  After studying wiring diagrams, I found that both problems had that fuse panel in common, the bcm also controls both problems but knowing the fuse panel had a burnt smell I removed and disassembled the fuse panel and found a little corrosion on the printed circuit board.  I ordered a new fuse panel from Amazon for like $260. When it arrived I installed it, and put everything back together, the problem was fixed. I figured the fuse panel needed to be replaced anyway so that was a logical place to start. Hopefully this story helps someone in the future. Regretfully I didn’t scan for codes before I did everything.
    • That stinks. I’m sitting on the side of the road right now with the same issue. Never had an issue before taking it in for the ground strap recall. Now I’m outside of warranty and they’ll probably want $200 just to diagnose what they already “fixed”.
