I have a 2014 GMC 3500hd with the 6.0 gas engine. The ignition cylinder was jamming up and ultimately would not turn no matter what. I drilled it out and replaced it as i would in an older vehicle. I was never able to program the new key the way they said i would be able to. At this point it is no longer saying service theft deterrent system and if i scan it im getting ignition voltage codes and lost communication to ecm codes. I have hptuners, at this point i disabled VATS to no avail and have since put it back to factory settings. The scanner seems to be reading all values and i dont see anything burnt up in the ECM. Not sure where to go from here and dealerships are backed up.

thanks

I would start with looking at the ignition switch bits you worked on/replaced, that something there is wrong.  It can even be new parts being bad.  The various computers failing are the least likely cause of your problem.

and if the truck was built to be sold in canada, you will need a bidirectional computer and possibly a subscription to acdelcotds to relearn the security system.
