3/4 ton suspension on a C10

Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've been needing some expert help on these trucks, and I found this site. So here it goes... I've got an 81 C10 I'm in the process of restoring, and the cab is in pretty bad shape. Well I found another cab that is in excellent shape except for one cab corner, and he said he'd take $75, but I have to take the whole truck. Well, I started looking at it, and it's got the 14 bolt full floating rear axle, and the heavy duty 8 lug wheels all the way around. I'm assuming it's a 3/4 ton, but I guess it could be a one ton, but it's not a dually. I'm not too knowledgable on the heavy duty stuff (in case you couldn't already tell :(). So, what would it take to put all this stuff on my truck? I'm planning on doing a lot of towing with mine, and I know I really don't need all that stuff, I just thought it'd be kinda cool...

Oh, and mine is a shortbed, that's why I wouldn't just put my bed and stuff on that frame...

Sounds like a great buy for $75 if everything's in OK shape.

It'd be worth the extra hassle to get a beefier axle & suspension up under there - it'll pay off in the long run. I really wouldn't think it'd be too terribly hard to convert over, either - especially on an '81.

Best of luck!

Well, all that's left is the cab as far as the body goes, and the windshield and rear window are gone out of that. But the doors and everything are in good shape. Just the one spot of rust on the corner, but that's a pretty easy patch...
