I have a 01 2500 hd ext cab 4x4 6.0

You can look out the mirror and see the box shaking side to side at about 45 to 53 mph.

Ive tried three sets of tires new rims ect.

I started out just putting good year Ats 305 70 16 on stock rims and it got worse soo then got new ones. goodyear 315 70 16. no change had them check it at the dealer and they said road force varience on 2 tires.

brought them back too good year got the 315 75 16 MTRS and new eagle rims.

Even worse.

So then good year says my new rims are bent.

So I brought in my steal rims and the put some michelin stock size 235 70 r 16.

Now you can still feal it slightly at this speed. I think what ever it is it just gets worse with the bigger tires.

Anyone have a guess?

one more thing this truck only has 36500 miles on it.

I wonder if this thing shook when I bought it new.

With little tires it still dose it but barely noticed if you werent looking for it.

Has anyone herd of driveshaft problems or bent axels.

Also during all this tire changeing I also had to replace a axle seal on the left rear.

The stearing wheel never shakes no matter what tires on it. Its something in the rear for shure.

Could the seal went out because of this problem.

Any techs for GM out there herd of this problem?

An axle could be the culprit.

 

I'd also grab abig handful of the drive shaft and try to wiggle it side to side. A bad carrier bearing can cause vibrations.

I have the same problem....I had 315/75/16 Pro Comps and switched to 36x14.50x16 STS's and the vibe got worse. Its teh width that is magnifying the vibration. I cant track it down.

Is your at 45 to 50 mph.

Also what did you use to cut your bumper with

is it a sharp edge now or did you fold it over again.

Im takeing the truck to the dealer with stock tires and rims. They said they have a thing that rides in the truck to find the vibration.

Anyone have info on this?

tried to shake the drive shaft it seems tight by the pinion yoke.

Anyone ever shake your trany and trans case. seems almost like the mount has really soft rubber. could that be it.

It looks like the same mount from a 86 4x4.

Iknow they sell a nioprean mount for old chevys wonder if you can get one for this?

Think that could be it.

Somebody go out side and shake your driveshaft by the tranny is it my truck or are they all like this?

They are all like that......

 

I cut my bumper with a saw-zall and then fine tuned it with a hand file. It isnt a sharp edge. Just a blunt edge the thickness of the metal.

 

Let me know if the dealer figures anything out......I have spent way to much $$$ and time trying to figure it out.

My truck has that vibration from about 45-55 MPH. I have had it with all 4 sets of tires and 3 different sets of rims, stock 245's, 285x75, 35x12.50 and 36x14.50. It's been about the same thorughout the life of my truck, a little worse with the mudders.

anyone blow out an axel seal?.

Could that bearing be bad also?

There was oil leaking out of the drivers side rear axle all over my new eagles.

So goodyear replaced while i was in there messing with this tire problemor vibration.

Question would be if this seal went out at 36 thousand miles could the bearing be bad also?

Is this my vibration?

Iwas driving it today.

I noticed the truck has allot of feedback from the road. Like one little pot hole and the truck shakes. Like you feel it in the seat of your ass.

The sterring wheel never shakes.

What engine mods do you have for that.

I cant believe you can get those tires turning with a 6.0

Hard for me to even get some scratch.

List your mods.

If I cant fix the VIBRATION I might as well go fast.

LOL. That was when I had 33's on it. I cant spin the 36's. I have the 6.0 engine. That was with a UPD (NSV) intake, Flowmaster True Dual Exhaust, Westers ECM, TB Spacer and a ASP Under drive pulley! I used a little brake to get them broke loose then just stood on it.

 

On your vibration......sound like maybe you have weak rear shocks. Also, your leaf spring bushings could be shot. I have yet to find my vibration......hope one of us can. I have went over my truck with a fine tooth comb. IM me sometime on AOL Istant Messenger or MSN Messenger....
