How prevalent is carbon buildup in the 3.0l

Do these motors suffer from carbon buildup in the intake and on the valves? Seems like I haven't seen a bunch on this topic. 

 

I can't do a weight reduction for years as I still have a warranty.

The best thing to do is not to use your truck as a grocery geter.  You need to drive these trucks and all diesels to get them to do a re-gen.  If you need to go to the market or church, take the long way.  I bought a little bang around car for this reason.  Don't be afraid to "get on it", it will only do it some good.
