I have a 2025 GMC Denali 2500hd Duramax. I took the truck in for the radio update and now Android Auto will not connect to my phone (Android) all the time ( pixel 8 with all the updates).

I took it back to the dealer and they reinstalled the info system and still doing the same thing. I have done all the changes on my phone that I have found on the internet with no luck. It worked fine before the update, any ideas?

maybe try forgetting your phone from the infotainment system and re-connecting it.  If not, maybe try a factory reset on the truck.  What software version did they update the truck to?

Hi, New here.  2026 Denali HD.  Just purchased 7/2/26.

I am having the same issue.  I just traded in my 2024 AT4, and the truck connected to bluetooth and Android Auto Immediately!  Now, with the new HD, it connects when it wants to, which is usually not at all.  I have to use the usb-c cable to get it to connect.  Bluetooth won't even connect without the AA.

Now after saying all that, I'll take a 20 min drive with the phone plugged in.  Stop at a store, restaurant, etc....  Get back in my truck and DO NOT plug the phone in.  The truck then decides at this point, lets connect BT & AA and work perfectly, ie how it should.

I have deleted (forget phone) the phone multiple times.  I guess I'll just get used to plugging it in every time. even though I don't think its good for the phone battery to have it on charge after it hits 100%.

I have searched all over.  No one else seemed to be having this issue, until I read this thread today.

thanks for reading.

Make sure your phone software is up to date.  Some people have had issues lately with bluetooth on GM radios and their phone had a security update or something that fixed it.

My truck just had a recent s/w update.  Before that my iPhone connected via BT every time.  After the update, it connected sporadically.  Seemed to NOT connect if the truck had been off a period of time.  I think I cured the issue by having the phone forget the truck in the phone BT connection screen.  Since I have re-paired the BT connection, my phone connects.  You said that you "deleted the phone several times".  I assume you mean in the infotainment screens.  Maybe try it from the phone side to see if that helps.  Just a thought.

Thanks.  Yes, I removed the phone from the infotainment system, and I also removed the "my gmc" from my phone several times.  maybe it will get better with time, or I'll have to get used to plugging it in all the time.

Had a similar issue with my 2025 Chevy 2500 HD. Did everything (forget phone, forget truck etc) Ended up resetting (rebooting) the infotainment system, using the "phone hang-up" button on the right side of the steering wheel, holding it down until the infotainment system reboots. All good now.

Thanks, I will try that tonight!
