Mrob7 Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Purchased a 1965 GMC 1000 series with a manual 3 on the tree. The linkage is frequently sticking in 3rd, most often. As such, I'm considering going to a floor shifter to alleviate this linkage problem. I've been searching for a floor shifter, but am coming up empty. Hurst doesn't have a complete kit, you have to purchase the shifter and linkage separately, and I haven't found anything for a 1965, plus Quite expensive. I've seen recommendations to use Mr gasket, but they no longer make a 3 speed shifter kit. Does anyone have any recommendations?? Mrob7
Mrob7 Posted June 21 Author Posted June 21 Found the fix for this. Untightan the bolt just below top linkage on the steering column, turn assembly left to reduce space between the two linkage rods at the steering column, tighten bolt. Made a big improvement.
