I'll try and mostly add to the discussion I think I can offer a bit of help on the 6.5TD front and I try and be fair. I just don't like getting stomped on (other places) for asking straight basic questions. If there is anyone lurking that has 6.5 troubles I maybe able to offer a bit I am not a pro I just have worked on my own for 8 years and have learned a few thing but don't know it all by any streach. PM me if any one needs a hand if I can't help I'll say so.

I have a '95 6.5TD. I blows blacj smoke on acceleration. Check engine light came on. Code show waste gate. Changed the waste gate sensor, no help. rebuilt the turbo, changed waste gate solenoid. Don't know where to go from here.
