bad stalk?

i lost my cruise control and low beam headlights at the same time.anyone else had this experience?i think the multi-function switch (stalk) on the turn signal switch is the problem.anybody had this or have changed out this switch? whats involved in changing it out? thanks for any help.

I had to have mine changed last fall. I had installed the R&D light controller and it overheated the wiring on the low beam side of the switch and that melted all the wires on the plug. You can change it without removing the steering wheel but it is tricky and involves using bits designed to be used in a screw gun (torx, not sure of the size) and a 1/4" wrench to turn the bit. Kinda tricky but doable. BTW the switch lists for around $200 for my 02 Sierra, Good Luck.
