I have a '03 Envoy with the 18 gal fuel tank. Will the newer 22 gal fit as a direct replacement?

I think that the larger tank will only fit in the XL.

Thanks, GMCTech. I think the XL's have the 25 gal tank. I have asked several others but no one has been able to tell if the 22 gal wil replace the 18 gal on the standard wheel base Envoy. My reason for wanting the larger 22 gal tank is for additional range.
