S-10 spindles

Im looking for candidate spindles for a pro-street Corvette project.  S-10 2WD spindles are available dropped from several manufactures, so thought I'd consider an S-10 donor.

Q: Is the S-10 front steer (tie rod ahead of axle)

Q: Can anyone give me an approx. measurement of the distance from the center of the lower ball joint to the axle centerline, and from lower ball joint to upper ball joint?

Thanks - Greg

Front steer, but I can't get under the truck to measure. I'll see if we have any kicking around the shop

A neighbor down the street has an S-10 company truck, have to see if I cen get a tape measure on it some evening.

Can anyone tell me if the hubs are integral to the disk rotor assemblies, or separate parts?  I'm about ready to order some drop spindles but need to know if I'll need some salvage yard hubs, or just order some new disk assemblies.

Thanks - Greg

Thanks.  Last question (I promise :D).  Do they take standard GM calipers or the gm "metric" ones?  I can get either in aluminum, so would like to go with those instead of stock iron units.

Yes, a little more sluthing (and some blatent luck) and I discovered that the S-10 spindles are the same as (or at least interchange with) the 80-87 "metric" Malibu, Monte Carlo spindles.  I've got a pair of Bel Tech dropped spindles on order, should know how they are going to work out shortly.

Thanks for all the replys - Greg
