Panic button/alarm

I may have hit the stupid red button last night setting off my Sierra's alarm, but neither of the red buttons on each of my remotes would squelch it. The only way I could get it to stop was by starting the engine. That's not right and I was wondering what you think the problem could be. Both remotes operate the door locks fine, so there's no indication of low battery.

PS - I am having some electrical trouble in the form of the passenger side power window will not operate. I am told by the dealer that it will cost about $470 to replace the window regulator motor. That's another story and I am looking for a cheaper alternative.

That panic button seemed to find itself getting pressed quite a bit with my keys in my pocket. I decided to put some tape on the inside of the remote to solve that problem.

Same problem here I ended up cutting out that red button, it really ticks me off that they can be set off so easily

As for the panic button not working right, will it set the panic off when you press it?

if it does turn it on, press it twice not too fast, but not too slow either. that should turn it off

I've got the same problem with my passenger window, and now the passenger side view mirror works funny( I can move it left right and down, but it won't go up) I've been investigating a alternator and battery problem that I think might resolve other electric stuff. My regulator wire( I guess) isn't fitting right. When wiggled the volts jump around on my guage. My battery is sweating and saw a forum talking about the + batteryt post cracking the battery case inside which causes all kinds of problems, a lot like what I got and maybe yours? I've taken the window apart and greased the rails and pully stuff before, maybe you could do that before the moter stuff.
