TRANS. COOLER INSTALL

Recommended Posts

Posted

I just installed a 24000 GVW stacked plate transmission cooler on my truck. The diagram provided with it clearly shows the inlet and outlet at the top. This is 180 degrees out from the factory install. Is one way better then the other, or does it not matter one bit? Just turn and mount what ever is most convenient. What do you think?

Thanks,

Mark

I installed the OEM Cooler kit on my 03 and the inlet and outlets were at the bottom. I would think it would make plumbing a bit more difficult if the fittings were at the top, the OEM kit came with solid lines and not just hoses so it was imparitive that they were on the bottom for hookup. But if you are splicing in the cooler with hoses, I dont think it makes a difference the orientation of the fittings.
