255/85-16 on 2500HD

Has anyone run 255/85-16s instead of 285/75-16s on a HD. They look to be about the same height. Looking for some MPG increase and slicing through the deep snow better on the highway.

There is a woman at our office that runs that size. They are just a tick wider than stockers but much taller. They look like 285's but up close you can see the difference. Very nice

check out these pics, this guy (who posts here i believe) has the 255/85-16 Dunlop Radial Mud Rover's on his HD, they look great.

I was thinking of running that size, but the H2 take off wheels are so cheap I can't resist buying a set and running wider tires (305/70-17 GoodYear Wrangler MT/R's to come)

I've run Cooper 255/85R16 on several of my trucks and had good luck with them.

A buddy of mine has them on his 03 Crew Cab D-Max. They look really skinny IMO. Pizza cutters as I call them. I like 285s better.

I don't think they are all that bad looking, just not what I would do. To each their own though. It does give a different look to the trucks for sure...
