First up, here is the helicopter we use to get to mountain tops to service rain guages. This is sitting on the top of Mt. Irish at around 8640ft. Landing area at this site is quite small, trees are only a couple yards from the rotor blades.

Can we go play in the Helo? That would be sweet!

Ha, I wish I could play in the helo. We only do the helicopter thing twice a year usually, to service our high-altitude rain-gauges. Cost to bloody much to do it more often. We use Sundance Helicopters (sure you have heard of them) to fly us around. They are the only local helicopter company approved by the Interior Department/Forest Service to do government contract work in our area.

I wish I had a little more camera skills like you do, wanted to get a few more better pics of the valley when we where heading back in from the Sheep Range, but we got caught up in the storm on Wed. and the helicopter was bouncing all over the place.

Looks like I will have to check out Mt. Potosi on the TOPO maps. Will have to look for a path up there. :D

Unfortunately there is a locked gate in the way. We use atvs to get to the top of Potosi (we have permission to go up, much of the Potosi area is privately owned because it is a Boy Scout camp). The road is nasty for a while, shreaded, rocky, and quite steep. If you look on the topo it is in the Spring Mtn Rec Area nr Goodsprings.

yeah man no need to be ugly. it's a picture post. put whatever you want.

To be honest I think it's cool that a gm-trucks.com guy has a ford as a company truck. Company vehicles sometimes have a rep for getting beaten. And several of us in here, if not most, would love nothing more than to beat up on a ford!!:lol:
