Engine Diagnostic

If I take my truck to the mechanic, and he puts it on the computer can it tell if I have a bad valve? No engine light is on.

If it is for the 91, probably not. OBD1 will only give you info if you have a check engine light. Compression check would be a better indicator. What is leading you to think that there is a bad valve?

A ton of watery carbon blowing out the exhaust, smells very gasy, and will not idle when in drive, wants to stall out or barely stay running. When I put it in gear, it feels like I have a huge cam, it rolls over very slow, and the whole truck wants to shake. But if it is in neutral, it's tries to stay running. When I give it gas and it is at higher RPM's it fine, runnings smooth. Oh, no power when in drive. Any ideas?

When was the last time it was "TUNED" (plugs,wires,cap,rotor,etc...) could be an ignition problem....just a thought...
