I do the same, when I'm at school in CAD and I'm bored I'll check the forums and such, when I'm at home if Im in between being bored I'll check the forums, look ebay up, etc.

You do get addicted I think. It's the same way with Xbox Live. I NEVER played video games until I got that, it's addicting as hell!

:bs: .......... ??? :D

I read a TON of books.

Books are so much better than movies or the internet for a great story. They can fit more info in there. Character develpment, subplots, etc....If they would have put all the characters and subplots from "Clear and Present Danger", or "The Hunt for Red October" into the movies based on them, the resulting cinematic experience would make "Roots" seem like an after-school special, and the LOTR trilogy a mere 15 minute public safety announcement.

Not to mention the fact that they are very cost effective for entertainment.

Movie -(at theater) $8. Time: 3 hours.

Movie - (rented) $4. Time: 3 hours.

Internet - $500 minimum startup, and a monthly service fee up to $50 for cable line. Time: endless.

Golf - $minimum $150 startup cost for clubs, $20 green fees, $12 for cart. Time: 5 hours.

Book - $7 for a paperback. Time: varies wildly on you reading speed, but a good long novel will keep your spare time occupied for a couple of days.

Also, reading for pleasure helps the comprehension on the really dry stuff I have to go through at work all the time.

And yes, Speedy, I'm bored, that's why I typed all that ^^ :dupe:

well I am at work and it is another slow night unfortunatly no one else is on here right now and I guess I can just ramble on on this one since it is bout whatever.I agree about the internet addiction I will be reading a book or magazine and then will want to look somthing up on the wb that I just read about. After that I am usually online for awhile because since I am on line I might as well check my email the forums and any other idea that pops in my head.

FYI to CRAZYCUBAN2 and PELICAN:

If you guys want to chat to each other, please use the Live Chat link at the top right hand corner of the page. It saves on using up space on the forum that would otherwise be used for more meaningful topics, replies and information.

I often use the internet to fight boredom. I spend a fair amount of time on it, maybe too much, but I don't allow it to be my only activity. I like to read books as well; I usually spend an hour or two reading each day. I play xBox off and on. Sometimes I will do nothing but play GTA Vice City for a day or two, but then I might not play it for two months. I do watch some TV, but not all that much anymore. I might do it to get news or to kill time, but there are no TV shows that I "have" to see or that I schedule other things around. Besides, once a trend starts on TV all of the networks try and make money off the same type of show and it gets incredibly boring to watch just about anything. Cold Case Files on A&E is my favorite show, but I don't watch every episode.

And yes, I am bored right now.
