A weird hesitation....

Ok....the truck is running great except for one thing. It just started happening....

When I'm idling and just barely push on the throttle (we're talking somewhere in the range of 5-10%...no more) the RPMs drop (almost like its going to die) and then pick back up. If I mash on it...it drops for a second and catches up. Higher-Reving throttle response seems to be just like it always is, but this hesititation makes me nervous even when I'm pulling into traffic

I've just got done replacing the cap and rotor...no difference. Replaced the fuel filter...no difference. The plugs and wires have about 5K miles on them...should be fine. Just did an oil change last week.

Anyone have any ideas? The next thing I'm going to do is a throttle body cleaning with some seafoam, but I have to be honest....it seems like it is a shot in the dark.

id have to say something involved with fuel delivery, i had this problem on my dirtbike, id snap the throttle and not enough gas was being fed at idle so it would bog and stall, basically creating a lean situation, i stuck in a new leak jet to get more fuel in there and the bog is all gone,

throttle position sensor should be the problem. I am assuming you are talking about the 94. a scanner would show easily if you have access to one. can be easily done with an ohm meter but i do not have a scematic handy to tell exactly what pins to check to be sure. but you can back probe the sensor(do not damage wires.) find the 5v reference wire then check the other 2 pins on the tps for a glitch with an ohm meter

I would say its either the TPS or the IAC, both are rather cheap to replace. My old s10 with a TBI went through 2 IAC's in 75k miles. You can change the fuel filter, but I would bet money that it's not going to do anything.

Ummmm, I think he said he already replaced the Fuel Filter, Plugs and Wires.

Like said before, the PCV wouldn't hurt.... if you didn't do that when you did the air filter.

I would lean towards the TPS also.........

Don't go too overboard with the Octane booster, it can cause major problems! I'd still run a bottle of Techron fuel injector cleaner through there on your next fill up.
