hello, i am new to this forum. i have a 94 c/k 1500 5.7 TBI , i was wondering which exhaust, is best for sound/performance? My friend tells me a flowmaster super 40 is good? would he be correct or what are some better choices? also which pipe size should i use? i am running everything stock so far, should i turn it down as well? what decent y-pipes do they make for my truck? thanks for any input, it is greatly appriecated.

Flowmaster is nice, although we have been installing the Gibson

Stainless systems with great results. Lose the 3" tailpipe

idea otherwise you will lose significant torque.

Have a great one!

i had a 93 z71 with the 350-- i put glasspacks on it when the flowmaster wore out -- stock pipes lasted 40k miles, the flowmaster lasted 80k miles, then the glasspacks until i sold it... man i miss that noise :D I didn't want another flowmaster because everyone else had a flowmaster on their trucks-- and i liked the glasspack rumble better. The flowmaster gives you hollowed out sound, the glasspacks a deep rumble. You get use to the noise -- and its really not bad on the highway.

I really like the edelbrock cat back for that truck. Good quality in 3 different tip exit styles. The flow on the muffler is alot better than flowmaster or gibson and the exhaust is deep, but has no drone in it. I will probably be putting one on my 5.3 before too long. I also felt a difference when installing their cat back system on my '90 5.7 tbi. Summit has the complete kit and its around the 300 dollar range I believe
