Its way past time for my truck to get new pads and rotors, the truck is a 1500 series. When i went to buy the parts to do it, i was asked if it has the heavy duty breaks, and i have no idea. How would i find out what breaks the truck has??

Look in your glovebox for the SPID label and look to see if it has the option code F44,If it does then you have the "Heavy Duty Chassis" pkg. which would give you the bigger (or heavy duty) brakes, If not then the standard brakes are what you have. Hope this helps

Glove box label will have all options for that vehicle VIN going out the factory door.

JB5 is half ton single action drum rear

JB6 is half ton dual action drum rear

JB7 is 3/4 ton to 1 ton dual action drum rear.

Don't have the numbers for 4 wheel disc.

You can look up the option (RPO) codes at buddies info/help/HOW2 site at: #1 Son's Suburban/GM Truck info/help/HOW2 site
