Hi,

I'm doing some research on E 85 fuel used with Flex Fuel engines on a number of GM trucks, including certain; Tahoes, Yukons, Suburbans, Sierras and others.

Does anyone on the forum used E85 fuela and do you have any comments about it?

Thanks

my comment on E85:

Adding alcohol to the fuel reduce emissions /gal but you use more fuel to go the same distance therefore it is all tree hugging, sitting around in a circle holding hands singing cum bi ya, feel good non-sense.

Here is my $0.02. E85 is good for the farmers, good for the environment, but bad on your wallet. Like asepgrad said, you will lower your fuel mileage by quite a bit. The only places I have found E85, it was more expensive than regular (about the price of midgrade) and I was only able to get 10 mpg highway. I get nearly double that with regular. The only good news is, you can get a tax break for getting the flex fuel option.

On E85, has anyone had performance issues such as hard starts in cold weather and do you need special oil or have to treat flex fuel engines differently than regular engines?
