Did '99 TAHOE's have passlock?

I bought a vortec 350 out of a '99 Tahoe and I'm putting it into a '96 s-10. I want to know if the 99 Tahoes have the passlock because if they did, the computer will be a problem and I wont be able to start the truck up.

Did ALL '99 Tahoes have passlock, SOME of them, or NONE of them?

Yes they have PASSLOCK II.

All fullsize trucks have PASSLCK II 98-up

I'm pretty sure they all did...Do you have access to the donor truck so you can look at the wire harness coming out of the steering column and look for the 3 little wires for the PASSLOCK ? Did you get the wiring harness w/the engine and computer when you bought it,they may be in there also (usually black, white and yellow they are really thin 22awg) I think PAINLESS may make a harness for your conversion...hope this helps

Thanks for the info guys, I have also confirmed elsewhere that it should have Passlock II. I don't have access to the truck to get the Passlock components. I do have the complete wire harness and computer but from what I understand, the passlock components are located inside of the truck under the center of the dash...so I wouldn't have that stuff.

It sounds like the easiest thing for me to do might be to just sell this computer and try to find one out of a '96-'97 that didn't have any passlock or VATs on them.

anyone have one? lol
