Comp/temp mirror 2000 GMC 2500 (OBS)

Have used the search function, looked through 16 pages and have not found an answer to my specific question. Bought a comp/temp auto dim rear view mirror off ebay. Have auto dim/comp in my 2000 GMC 2500 (OBS) crew cab. The 7 pin plug in is the same. Looked under the underhood fuse panel for a 2 prone plug and in front behind the grill and found none. Hate to run 2 new wires to the mirror when I know the 2 temperature wires terminate somewhere. Colors at the mirror are brown, green/black stripe, pink, gray, green, black, and red, reading left to right looking at the plug. Can anyone help? What colors are for the temperature sensor and where to they terminate? Thanks. David

wires are under underhood fuse block under cover,you have to pull brace off that

goes over fuse block and then pull large cover off to gain access front bottom

side of fuse block,, will find 4 wire connector that is not used, these are for sensor

After spending several hours looking under my dash and my hood for a connector that the compass/temperature mirror wiring plugged into after it left my windshield, I found it. I also was armed with a copy from the dealer's service manual wiring schematic for the Suburban/Tahoe. It appears the comp/temp mirror was not offered for the old body style pickup in 2000.

The first connector after the plug-in mirror connector is a inline 10 prong blue plastic connector labeled as C271, in the schematic, that was rolled up in a grey, one side sticky foam jacket and stuffed above the steering column and under the gauge cluster. I could see the 7 wire loom wrapped in grey tape that attached to the comp/temp mirror wiring came down the driver's side door post but could not tell where it went. I tapped into the downstream side of this blue connector at pins G & H, the where the green/black strip wire and the brown wire terminated with small female GM connectors bought at a parts house and ran the 2 new wires through the dash firewall to the temperature sensor I picked up in a junk yard. It appears that the GM temp sensors from about 98 to 04 are the same impedence and will work.

Hopes this help some other late model old body style truck owner upgrading their auto dimming/comp mirror to an auto dimming/compass/temp mirror.
