Dealers who mod D-max's

I know my next truck in going to be D/A CC 4x4, but I'd prefer to get mods done by a dealer around me to get around warranty issues. I know Chapmansupertrucks in AZ sell high performance GM trucks, but Arizona isn't what I'd call close to Kentucky. Does anyone know of a dealership around KY, or even surrounding states that does high performance mods to GM trucks? I'm still a little over a year from getting one, but can't do too much research when buying something that will probably cost over $50K. Thanks, Chris

At the dealer I got mine from I saw a lifted 1500 they were selling (brand new) and asked them about it. They said it is still warrantied the same as a stock truck BUT a certain company in Texas did the work (that GM approved) and that is how it is modified yet still have the full warranty. With that said some dealers are more/less strict on mods and how it affects the warranty.

Several dealers in TX mod stock trucks w/ lift kits, exhaust, superchargers, etc. The only drawback is that the only place to get warranty work, in some cases, is at the dealer who sold the truck.

My Escalade is an example of that. Frank Kent Cadillac installed the supercharger, and only Frank Kent covers my motor and trans warranty. The positive aspect is that I have an Mfg warranty. The negative aspect is that I live 300 miles from Frank Kent.

Is that ALL warranty work or just that work pertaining to where the mods are involved? I would think your everyday warranty work could be done at your local dealer. Major stuff you would have to travel!

Exactly.

So far, any dealer will work on all aspects of the vehicle – excluding the trans and/or motor. I just had 2 TSB’s (brake squeal and an erratic rear windshield wiper) performed without any hassle. In addition, I have not run into any problems with any dealers threatening to void my warranty because of the SC, aftermarket exhaust, etc., and I haven’t had to explain that another Cadillac dealer performed the mods. The only feedback that I got from the past TSB repairs was “Nice Escalade”
