Missing clips in front wheelwell liner? '04 TB LT

As the topic states.... Just picked up our new '04 Trailblazer. Haven't had a chance to take it back to the dealer.. but I noticed what I believe to be a number of clips that hold the front wheel well liner in place (attach to the edge of fender surrounding wheel well) are missing.

 

Saw it the other night in the dark, and haven't had time to check it out in daylight and confirm.. Anyone else have this?

 

Also, is there anything else I should be looking out for on a new TB?

Ok.. didn't intend to answer my own question.. but I looked at it this morning in daylight. It looks like the holes on the sheetmetal are only there if you have fender flares installed that are separate pieces (i.e. like with the two tone appearance package or the North Face Edition.)

 

The fender liner underneath doesn't have corresponding holes, as much as they are slots, made to slide in around the clips/screws if they are there.

 

If anyone can confirm/deny my assessment that would be cool..

I think your assessment is correct. That's one reason why adding fender flares is such an easy project. My Z71 in the signature didn't come with fender flares, but the install for all four took less than 30 minutes.

 

Definitely a must-have option if the truck didn't come with any.

They are access hole, I asked before I purchased the truck. Access to what I do not know, but they all have them.

The holes cut down on the total weight of the vehicle. Good for at least .001 more MPG.

The holes are there on my '02 Envoy as well. I thought the same thing upon first inspection, until I learned otherwise.
