2005 Tahoe Navigation

Hey all,

I purchased a 2005 Tahoe Z71 with the new optional Touch screen Navigation Radio. I was wondering if there was any way to add the 6-disc delco changer (as in the Denali/Escalade) to the new navigation radio since it was not an option in the Tahoe. If there is a way, what will I need to do the install, wiring harness, etc.? Thanks for your help.

this should help you out as longs as the wiring is the same as 03-04.

That is part of my problem. Im not sure if the wiring is the same since there is a completely new model Navigation Radio. Does anybody know how to hook up the 05 Navigation Radio with the 6 disc delco changer?

Unfortuantely I can't remember the pin outs...but can you can get your hands on a service manual to see what lines need to be added to the radio connector from the CD changer? It should be a pretty simple mod with no wire cutting.

 

BTW, if it is the in dash changer, I think that is a Panasonic unit.

I just installed navigation with touch screen in my 2004 Sierra. Bought kit from http://www.jpcustoms.com Jason was very helpful on install. The cd changer was very easy to add. The whole process took 3 hours to install that was soldering all connections.

The CDX connects the same as previous year models (03 & later). It taps onto a common audio bus shared with the XM tuner and the RSE video system. The data sent from the radio selects the operation of the devices and reads the DATA sent from them.

I finally got ahold of a six disc changer (ebay) as well as the 9-pin wiring harness needed to complete the install (JP Customs). I am looking to having it installed over Thanksgiving Break, after all I'm a college student with little spare time. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Can't wait to get the changer installed now that my XM trial is over. Thanks again for all of your help.

Make sure you have ther proper MY of that changer... An 02 or older won't work in an 03 & later... Common EBay problem, even when they show the year it's out of.
