A friend of mine told me he'd sell me his Timberwolf (not sure about the year) 250 4x4 for $1500. It has a new rear end and some other new parts. I just wanted to get some info on these four wheelers. What are some strengths and weaknesses of the model overall. I know its hard w/out the year, I'll ask him tomorrow.

A friend of my family has an older timberwolf 250 2wd, maybe like a 1994... That thing has never had any trouble, and they beated on it like a rented mule. It wasn't the fastest thing, but it was light enough that it would go through some pretty nasty stuff, and if it got stuck, you could throw it around yourself because of the weight. I think in ~2000 or so, I changed the oil, filter, air filter and spark plug for him... and if I'm remembering right, it was the 2nd time he ever did it. lol. He rides every 2 or 3 days on their farm to check on their cows. I'd say go for it if it checks out ok, it sounds like a good price to me!

(I am sort of biased toward Yamaha though, since I just bought a new Kodiak 450. :fume: )
