What is the torque managment system?

It cuts the power output of then engine (I believe by retarding the timing) during sudden changes in throttle and during tranny shifts to keep the engine from eating the transmission. A neat idea, but I'd rather have full power available and get a better transmission. I'm looking to get the TM cut back on my truck when I order the Westers tune sometime in the future.

TM pulls timing with the A/C on too!!!!!!!! TM SUCKS! I have zero TM in my PCM. Been fine for over a year now.

TM is some stupid a$$ way that GM wants to save money. Bottom line they should have built better transmissions and driveline components to handle the power of their motors. So as a result, they designed TM to retard timing, thus a reduction of power.

 

 

When I get my westers on the HD I'll have it all removed for sure. I know its not a drag truck but I want the power when I need it.

Sounds pretty stupid and yea, they shoulda put the 4L65E in these things if they were so worried. Westers sounds okay, but for one, its really friggin expensive (s**t, I can get my T/A reprogrammed for like $100, why does it have to cost $500 for my truck?), and also, i'm not sure I wanna dump 30 gallons of premium in my truck. Am I really gonna feel a difference with the 87/91 dual octane setting? Is there anyone else whose programming is cheaper?
