For anyone else looking for info on the arrival of the K2500 Avalanche, the following came to me today as a result of a query to Wheels.com.  Text of message as follows...

Production started at the end of July - GM advises they will be in full production by Oct. If you placed an order today - you should allow 8-10weeks for production

So, hopefully I will see it before Xmas.....

Glad to hear you got some idea when they should be built!

I just ordered my 1500 today!!!! Will check next week to see what the TPW is. I haven't been this excited in a long time   Would love to know what research you find out on the "toys" you are looking at.

I read the Motor Trends article tonight and the AV did quite impressive in lots of regards. The one area that we kind of flamed at was "Braking". My wife commented on this during one of our test drives. It is a 5400lb truck!  Any opinions on the AV's Brakes?

I personally haven't driven one but I would think tehy would have the same brake booster and rotors as the 1/2 ton truck.  Although these seem adequite (sp?), They never really felt that impressive in my Silverado.

The larger rotors and bigger booster in my HD make the brakes feel better than what I had.  Although I doubt I stop as fast due to size and weight.

It would be nice if GM equipped their LD trucks with at least the heavier hydraulic booster.
