Exhaust Question on the 6.0ltr

I bought a 2003 GMC 1500HD Crew Cab. They come with 2.5" that exits at a 90 degree behind the wheel. I like the looks of the HD trucks with 3" and exiting at an angle. Can and how should I do this trying to keep it as stock as possible? Just replace the tailpipe is what I am thinking? Any benefits or losses?

Thanks!

You should be able to use the 3" pipe from the HD to replace from the muffler back with no problem. It may change the tone slightly, but definitely will not hurt anything. I have an aftermarket 3" pipe with a 3.5" tip on my '00 Sierra.

Yours is an 03 crew with a 6.0L and it has 2.5" exhaust? Mine came factory with 3.5" exhaust out the back.

Yes but your truck is a 2500 HD and his is a 1500 HD.They have different exhaust setups such as muffler and pipe size.
