Do they really cut down wind noise? My truck is pretty quiet,  I cant imagine it would have much effect but I dont have much to compare to...

I noticed a difference right off.  I believe I'm hearing more of my tires now.  I pretty much concluded they were money well spent.

Next I'm wanting to pull the back seat out and put some breathable foam in the pressure vent plemun.

The interesting thing is that some trucks got them and some didn't.

Ryan got his truck around the same time I got mine (April 1, 2000, no fooling!).  We've even been racking up the same miles (although he has pulled ahead of me)!  His had them, mine didn't.  I wonder if his beening a 'rado and mine's a Sierra had anything to do with it?  Or if his being assembled in USA and mine in Canada had something to do with it?  Don't know!  I do believe no 1999s had them, though.

Just a guess, but I would say it was a deal where people complained about wind noise on the earlier models and that was a fix for it.

If that's the case, wouldn't there be a tsb on it?  I haven't seen or heard of one.  Probably not enough complaints to issue one, but an area to improve on the newer trucks.

That may be the case.  A fairly cheap, easy fix.  I havn't heard of any TSB's either.  I know my '99 doesn't have them.

The deflectors should be on all 1/2 ton 2001 models.

Maybe some late '00 models received them also, who knows?
