Silverado4x4 Posted October 8, 2004 Posted October 8, 2004 Having problems with my climate control hot cold slide bars, sometimes when I slide both bars up to hot for awhile then back to cold the passanger side will stay hot even though the slide bar is on cold. If I shut the truck off then start it back up the passenger will blow cold air. It always does it when I cant take the truck back to the dealer right away only does it once in awhile, just seeing if anybody has had this happen to them and if so what was wrong, any help would be greatful. btw its a 2004 Duramax 4X4 ext cab.
Wardster Posted October 11, 2004 Posted October 11, 2004 I am having a similar problem with my '03. It has the climate control knobs (digital) and it would sometimes cool the truck well below the 72 degree setting. It's like having the fan on the highest setting with Max A/C. If I shut the truck down and restart it, then it works fine. Not really sure what he deal is. -Wardster
lord-dogbert Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Mine does the same thing. 03 crew cab with digital controls. Brought it to the dealer 3 times, replaced the control panel once and told that i'm crazy twice after the stealer put 100 miles on the odometer driving it to his home. GM sent me a customer satisfaction for the last service, I told them that i'm not at all satisfied with the service and dealer. Hopefully they'll intervene.
Silverado4x4 Posted November 4, 2004 Author Posted November 4, 2004 I forgot to post the fix that the dealer did, they replaced the acuater for the heater door then had to calibrate it.
Shawn T Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 It is in the heater damper door motor, not the head unit. I went through this ordeal. If they try to replace anything besides the damper motors they are just guessing.
white8.1 Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 My passenger side slide bar would stick sometimes in the hot position after running the defroster and then swithching to ac. Also my heated mirrors quite heating at about the same time. They replaced the mirrors and i don't remember the fix for the slide control, it was under warrenty and did not give me a copy. 04 crew cab heavy duty.
Silverado4x4 Posted November 5, 2004 Author Posted November 5, 2004 Yeah it was the heater door acuater for the passenger side
