Mystery coolant leak!

Hey guys... here we go again....

 

88 LO5, Auto.... Coolant is leaking at a pretty quick pace, dripping off the torque converter through the bottom, not trickling from the top.... any ideas?

I believe there are freeze plugs back there?

Yup, there's freeze plugs in the back of the block, but there's also alot of things on top that you might not be able to see from the top. The corner of the intake could be leaking, there's a fitting back there that could be the culprit, and even the head gasket could have an external leak. Try looking around with a mirror and a flashlight...good luck, hope it's something easy.

I had a 90 GMC with the same leak Hope this helps, check the hose fitting on the intake man left side rear (looking at the front of eng) they are made of pot metal and will crack. Be very careful taking it out it will come apart
