well i just put some 285 75's on a set of eagle rims on my 2001 2500 hd and now i think i want to go a little bigger. my rims are 16x8 and have a 4.5 inch backspacing. if i put a 3 inch body lift what size tire will i be able to run then on the same rims? ive seen a few of you running 315's but you also have the h2 rims which have like a 5 inch back spacing.

i wouldnt go any bigger on those rims, 305's would be the max 315's will be too big for those, for me personally i would get the mickey thompson classic lock rims, theyre not outrageously expensive and they look awesome, they also come with any backspacing you want

edit: my neighbor has those (not sure about backspacing) but i think its got 315's or 325's on it and it looks awesome, you can also change the rim lip to a different color, and a 3 inch body lift should clear anything up to 33's, maybe even 35's

i've got 305/70/16s on my 03 2500hd, and only had to trim the front bumper and crank the t-bars. any bigger and you are looking at investing $2000+ in a quality suspension lift kit. an extra $2000+ is alot to spend for the small jump from 305s to 315s or 325s. plus, as the guy above me mentioned, you'll be buying new, wider rims too.
