Power Programmers

Does anyone run a power programmer (hypertech, Superchips) on their hummer? My sister-in-law drives an 04 I think and says she loves it except for the crappy gas mileage she gets. She was hoping to improve her MPG by programming it. I just wanted some up front information before she invests in that. Cany anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance

Hypertech gave me lots of gas mileage...

I have not seen any of the plug-in programmers give any mileage gains. I had both a Hypertech and superchips in my 6.0, which is the same engine in the Hummer, that gave me "0" economy gains. My Wester's tune gave me a 1.5 MPG increase around town, and about 3 more on the highway. I would imagine most other custom tunes would give you some fuel mileage increase too, but I can only speak for my Wester's tune.
