What tool does the dealer use to match the radio to your VIN? Is it just a Tech2?

umm... i know this... dont they use a computer simulator to match to your vins?

If it's just theftlocked, yes. A Tech2 quick procedure.

 

You can temporarily bypass it with a power switch on the heavier orange wire at Connector 1, B1 (not the lighter one on A1), in the back of the radio. (The larger GM24 connector.)

 

Switch off, key on-start it... whatever, then power on your radio with the switch.

 

The hassle is you have to do it each time it powers up!

 

What this does is bypass the VIN read routine upon power up of the truck's system.
